A NEW HOPE

After end of the world from the last week, a new hope is born!

FaceApp_154835002146901.jpeg

I received three seedlings as a gift from a friend

They are not a variety, but ordinary seeds found in weed purchased from a dealer. Cannabis bought this way is mostly cultivated on the hills of Albania and imported to Croatia.
In the past, quality was very poor and price was very low.
For last decade the quality has improved significantly,
and (lucky guess) the price has risen also.

Yesterday I transplanted gifted seedlings into fabric pots and placed them in temporary vegetation box under LED.
During watering a bit of root complex is added, just in case.
My box was constructed for automatics and some adjustments has to be done now. Just make it bigger and the ventilation system needs to be rearranged according to volume change.
That is not so hard work and it will be finished soon.
When plants are settled in main box then week counter will start.

A friend has a habit of collecting seeds from the tops that brutally gets him high or ones that gets him stoned as hell, which is more likely.
It's gonna be surprise when time comes.
He planted them in pots on the balcony among other balcony flowers. This year there was no winter here and it is springily warm for a whole month for now, and this year he planted them earlier then usually.
Lucky me!
As I said he gifted me with three seedlings approx. month old.
Also he trained them with HST method, maybe a week ago. In case that he didn't top them I definitely would!

Cannapagedivider.png

There is obvious difference in reactions after HST among all three plants.

After a disappointing last week in a new one I'm heading full of optimism and joy!
I will cultivate three photo periodic plants.
Germination was on balcony, direct in ground more than a month ago. They are toped and soon after transplanted. Now they are under 3 LED bulbs (9W/6500K).
Not a brilliant situation and I will try ASAP to place them in normal box.
My dreams are that two of three will be females.
Dreamy buds will have highly stoned effect.

Effort must be made.
My summer stash depends on it.

See you soon

Looking good, Kind of young to top, But you got plans for mad training?

4th floor was toped. Definitely mad training. Probably I will test 8 hours flowering.

Man I would definitely let them get a little bit bigger before topping as well as using way smaller containers for those tiny little babies.

Personally I am in a big fan of a nice solid group system in small plastic cup. And stage replanting with some chelated micronutrients and b vitamins which has no impact for stress during replanting.

And little kids need quite a bit less light to grow.....

Hopefully and subsequent grows you can track down good mold mildew resistance strains to work with because that is just the best starting point.

However I'm really excited and I'm going to make sure that I'm following you because I definitely would love to see more.

@cowboyblazerfan is a phenomenal grower I know and you should totally ask his advice. Hands down the best grower most knowledgeable as well as most experienced on the blockchain

Thanks for tips and for constructive comment.
I will check definitely.

They are bigger then you think. The smallest one is just stunted.
Topping was on 4th floor. In transplantation I moved everything under 4th floor from stem and dig everything deep in dirt. Roots are on bottom half of pot. And pots are 11L.

I stayed on automatics scheme with only one transplantation and don't see need to have more. Especially when max pot is 11L.
My support for stage replanting if there is difference in volumes and end pot has big volume. These pots are perfect for topped plants around 60-90 cm height.

I have only one pic taken just before harvest. Seed was after germination placed in same pot. Check it in blast from past post :)

They are more then month old, if I didn't decided to extend box they would already be under 600W SON T PIA Plus ;)

"Hopefully and subsequent grows you can track down good mold mildew resistance strains to work with because that is just the best starting point." --- I cant translate or understand this, can you please try to explain?

Mold and mildew resistant plants are resistant to the main danger facing a grower which is different molds and mildews including powdery mildew as well as Bud rot.

Integrated pest Management or IPM is very important especially if you don't know what strain you're growing.

Personally I choose a extremely stable regular seed of extremely well-known genetics. And we only run off of clone out here in the Pacific Northwest.

Blue City Diesel is extremely high on yields excellent on flowering time being 7 to 8 weeks as well as mold and mildew resistant which means that when other plants are infected and having issues if not possibly approaching the stage that you need to just destroy the plant these things don't have any issues or damage....

Yeah that's a lot of light for a couple of tiny little babies... Personally I had mine under a little fluorescent light and they grew just fine on a fraction of that power bill I think it was 40 Watts....

Now I undarstand what you are talking about. Thanks for detailed explanation :)
I never had problems with mold or any kind of pests but till now I was always buying seeds. Will se what is gonna be this time. Growing for myself lets me financially to everytime buy new seeds and never try cloning. I thought about it but decided to maybe consider it again when I get old and have more free time and space.
From my first indoor grow ever I use Hesi products for regulating health, development and income.
In Croatia we have totally different problems with growing than you folks: )
And they are not bejbies anymore now they are teenager's :D
I will post updates regularly and would like to hear your opinions.

When I get a good strain that I like I can continue to clone a small plant from a big plant and just make more.

I have made thousands of plants out of one single mother plant and then I have placed the mother into flower and had a bunch of tiny little veg plants growing while mama busts out a big huge pile of buds.

Why continue buying seeds from companies that lower the THC content by breeding with ruderalis solely to force you to continue buying seeds from them?

I was never a fan of auto's I will never be a fan of them.

Properly grown bred and stabilized seed is your best friend.

We can all learn and I still learn to this day.

I am not a breeder I'm a grower. So many people are playing around with breeding that do not understand what they are doing. Or the amount of time and care that it takes to stabilize the strain as well as keeping it around for generations to come.

There is a fortress in Afghanistan and the only plant that grows around it is mazar I Sharif. This plant has been growing in that area after being cultivated by human beings 3,000 years ago.

To this day it is one of the best hash strains ever grown.

When you put cloning in that context it definitely should be only way to grow.
But in reality cannabis is forbidden by law almost everywhere and automatics (without discussion about mixing ruderalis to get them) are great product for households. Maybe best choice for small balconys.
I see your point in regarding genetics of original strains but that's what humans do best.
How much space do you need for cloning?
In Croatia, as I am aware, cloning is only used by organizations that with minimal invest wants to earn a bunch of money on blackmarket.
And leak of support for seed companies would leave a lot of people unemployed, with that economic would crash. :D

I totally support cloning and preservation of original strains not just for cannabis. Everything that was made by nature should be preserved and not degenerated but also there should be room for masses to be able every 3nonth to buy different seeds and enjoy in those little things.

I didn't know info for Afganistan strain thanks for sharing that with me.

Okay first off.

A rooteralis is a small plant and grows very small however you can take a 6-in rooted clone and force it to flower turning it into a foot tall bud.

So if you're trying to use ruderalis as something that is capable of doing something that other strains are not... Nope.

Then let's talk about potency and yield. Potency is extremely lacking and pitiful at best. 16%? Yeah I just don't see it I've tried smoking them and to me it's like smoking hemp.

Next up... Stability. These are done by a bunch of individuals just in the recent past you have no idea the ramifications and issues arising from these plants and the hermaphroditic tendencies.... Let alone these things grow so low generally they fall into the dirt and you lose a massive amount of yield.

Every time I've seen them it just seems counterproductive to everything that cannabis stands for other than the profiting of the automatic seed companies and their investments into the propaganda that you actually need it.

Only the unknowing would claim to make something that 100,000 or a million years of cooperation between this flower and human beings has been able to accomplish.

All for a little bit of ego and some cash.

This is just a bad and I bet you anything in the next 10 years nobody will grow or care about these strains ever again.....

By the way ruderalis is a ditch weed. After studying the different varieties it was completely dismissed as no benefit medically.

I don't have enough knowledge to continiue further debate. Maybe for a couple years from now...
For me I was easyer to by automatics and never thought about it in this way..
I guess that more education will follow for me.

Yep I just saved you a huge amount of money buying seeds!

Imagine you can have a perpetual rotation of the same strain growing it up taking a couple of clippings from some branches as You are trimming it and make more plants than you put the big plant in while the small plants are growing...

If I were you I'd look up big yields in small spaces. I've grown in cupboards closets and other places.

I had one where we had these tiny little rooted clones and we immediately put them in this hydroponics tray and grew a 12-in long popsicle bud plant.

Technically we were getting a few of these finished every day and it was a perpetual system where we just continue replacing small clones in the system and taking out the finished buds.

Growing cannabis is actually a phenomenally complicated endeavor if you want to make it so however you can also make it as simple as you want.

If you hit up my friend @cowboyblazerfan he can help you along with more advice. He is a phenomenal grower.

May you have a large amount of success learning about cloning and other propagation methods because I could also clone a plant while it is still on it.

Air cloning....

Somebody here with actually was trying it and I told them they need to be a little bit more on the moist side for their wrapping and after I told them that 2 weeks later they had a nice little clone ready to go!

I also want to grow a loop cannabis plant where I clone the tip and replant it in the same pot so this plant will have two root systems in the same pot and the stock will be looped...

Yep I really like cannabis!

I can see that you really love it and thanks for all tips you gave me. I you could find me on discord It would be a pleasure to learn some more from you.. For ten years I haven't even thought in anz other way of grow till now.

There is no room needed there's no special tools...

Basically cut a branch off and stick it in some water. That is basic cloning.

Maybe cut that Branch off and put a little bit of a moist foam plug around the cut end and wait for it to sprout roots and then you have an entirely new plant for free. You should totally look into cloning.

$100 donation in those plugs and I was able to produce 5,000 clones at $10 a piece for each one of those clones I gave away $50,000 in one year worth of top quality genetics.

Cloning is the only way to go....

Its a good math but I am not interested in mass production, only in getting myself from the street and having enough for my needs...

If cloning is only way to go that I have test first!

You gave a lot to think about and study and eventeually give it a try.

I'm just giving you the information so that you can make a better informed decision.

I would rather spend a couple of cents on some cloning gel and a foam plug then 50 bucks on seeds. I could use that 50 bucks on other stuff. Better lights better nutrients better pots....
