Wow didn't realize I just went through 105 comments! Also went on a bit of an upvote spamming spree (I usually show more stuff control!) What an engaging community. I may be needing a little improvement in the curation department though. I usually reply to every comment I get but sometimes I don't get your notification for some reason so if anyone thinks I ignored them, sorry!
Ok! Garden talk:

Instant Natural Fertilizer

or

How to Recycle Coffee Grounds

You may have noticed that I totally about coffee grounds a lot. It's probably my favorite garden resource. I use it for a variety of different jobs. Today I will be sharing a simple recipe for a strong plant pick-me-up!

  1. Place your batch of coffee grounds in a container
  2. Add 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  3. Add lots of club soda and mix well.
  4. Apply directly to the soil of your plants once every few weeks.

I think I am succeeding in befriending the gnomes I've come into contact with. There is increasingly more activity! Last night I stole a glimpse of a group of them that actually walked over my feet in single file. I even felt their light little feet press lightly down on me. I left two miniature spades standing in my lavender container and the pot with the variegated fish pepper. They like gardening (bring of the earth element) so little things like that encourage them. I need to put a set in the outdoor garden too.

I tend to whistle when I'm irrigating and well I'm also a musician so I'd like to think I can whistle in tune. If there were any gnomes around (probably as there are many places where they could hide now) I hope they liked the tune. Today it was Czardas by Vittorio Monti (for violin). Give it a listen; you may like it.

I learned a few things reading all the comments today:

  1. All my houseplant babies are waiting for the day I drop dead next to them so that they can feed off me

  2. I think I might be the baby of our HiveGarden family‽

Well I'm used to being the baby. Was practically raised by 4 sisters but I didn't get gardening from them. They refer to me by many titles: the boy, #5, YTP'ed versions of my actual name, and even so far as "plant whisperer". They do often come to me for help or to give a diagnosis.

Didn't take part in the little game. Sorry not sorry.

Good to know people recognize me though. I wonder if I made it harder due to the recent profile picture change? It just made more sense to change it to a pixelated (homemade!) version of my discord picture since I interact with quite a few Hivers there. Also,
haha @riverflows you would pick that picture of me for this contest!

Ok I'm done now. You have listened to proto26's ramblings. Goodnight.

Hahahahahahah omg that's the best comment, full upvote from me and from @gardenhive too. I'm glad you got to meet the gnomes... I can just imagine you sitting there talking to them about plants.

Hm, I wonder if you ARE the baby of Garden Hive? That's an interesting thought! I haven't ranked people by ages, only by how fantastic they are, and you're up there with the most fantastico.

Why cinnamon and club soda? What does that do? Has it occured to you that the reason you have gnomes is because they are drinking your fertiliser?

Aw thank you!
I'm glad we're starting to get used to each other too. I want to play some music for them but they may be the ones who misplaced my special (chromatic) harmonica.
Hm. I don't know why those ingredients actually but somehow they make sense. I know cinnamon is antibacterial. And the carbonic acid in soft drinks is sometimes used to kickstart compost piles, isn't it? I've heard of pouring a can of pop into the pile but that comes loaded with sugar as well, a quick food source for bacteria.
Maybe they are drinking what I brew... It is fermented. I offered them their own little bottle though so they shouldn't have to resort to my plant moonshine!

Hahaha they 'misplaced' your harmonica - I'm sure they buried it deep!!! I hope they didn't fall in drunk after drinking that plant moonshine, although that would be a funny sight...

THe sugar as food source makes sense - I've never thought of it!

Can i pretend i am 22 again... that would be nice. Stop my back aching everytime i lift huge bags of horse poo in the garden.

ramble away @proto26 Thanks again for sharing. Sorry my previous reply was cut short by my children trying to murder each other over a chip.

It's a violin solo with piano accompaniment so I guess it's perfect!
I miss the smell of horse poo...
It reminds me of rural Mexico, thriving farms, and exotic fruits!
