RE: Garden Journal Community Engagement: Win Hive!

I haven't been posting much of anything lately. I haven't wanted to sit at my computer, thinking, typing, hoping for attention. I attended, instead, to the living beings I have invited into my life, into my garden. But this post has me thinking in a pseudo garden mind, poetry about my lovelies, right here sitting in front of a screen. Here's a draft of a poem I may never spruce up. Thank you for reading it.
When I am in my garden
I think in poetry
awash in the thoughts of living beings
not in thoughts of my own
search for cucumbers in the heat of the day
the cucumbers said to me
as they allowed their leaves to droop
exposing the fruits they wanted me to eat
let this clover live at my feet
the zucchini told me
enjoying the company
get these beetles off of me!
hollered the pole beans
the latest to be attacked.
Prior to this
I listened to the copper colored beetles
who wanted to live
to munch away
The cannas had already said to me
get these beetles off of me!
I ignored them
I thought
"let's see if they flower even with see-through foliage."
The eggplants had already said to me
get these beetles off of me!
I ignored them
I thought
"let's see if they fruit even with see-through leaves"
The okra had already said to me
get these beetles off of me!
I ignored them
I thought
"let's see if they produce seed pods even with see-through foliage."
But when the pole beans implored me to get rid of the beetles
I acquiesced
The collective agony of multiple beings
became reason to eradicate one
Let nature guide your actions
I love this. And I love you are staring at living creatures not your screen. One should find balance and be where one feels good. But I'm so glad you graced us with one of your FABULOUS poems. Just divine. 💚
Thank you for inspiring it, with your request for garden tips.
The little fuckers are back today.
Hahaha there's nothing more frustrating!!!
A SEED for a challenge, pardon the pun (not!). LOL....
Share your garden time & thoughts in poetry, drawings, crochet or whatever - ANYthing creative that isn't prose with simple photos.
I have gotten bored with producing photos and text posts. I feel like I'm just cranking them out. Not like when I am in the garden, life and love all around. One of the last things I want to do out there is take out my phone and take pictures. I usually don't even have my phone with me. I just want to be a part of it all, not pulling out little pieces to display for others.
Oh this is so beautiful. One has to be taken away because it bothers many :)
Every moment in the garden is beautiful, teeming with heart, glory, life and love.
I agree with you on that :) It's so joyful to see the fruits of our sweat and love thrive
Beautiful poem - I think you wanted the bettles to coexist with the plants. I am happy however that helped one plant. I like that you also see poetry when you are in your garden and that you have shared it here. I feel that poetry is not really appreciated. Thanks for sharing.
