Today we taste a Cannabis beer

Does a cannabis beer taste at all?

Some friends delivered this different tasting beer to one of our meetings some days ago. Sure, this sounds interesting and after a few days of waiting inside of my fridge, it was time for a testing session.

Hey Hive Family
time to check out something new
a beer with cannabis

What a nice bottle cap

The marketing mission of the brewery is clear. They want to show the cannabis and the hemp.

The sad story of Hemp

Before the THC-containing variants of hemp fell into disrepute, commercial hemp was a plant widely grown in Germany and around the world. The fibers were used in the manufacture of textiles as well as for ropes and cordage. Hemp oil was made from the seeds, and hemp was and is also used in the natural insulation of buildings.

For some time now, the useful and medicinal plant is now finding use again, inspiring not only medical professionals and builders, but also quite different industries: Breweries, for example. the Weissenohe monastery brewery is setting a good example and has recently added a mixed beer drink to its range that contains a portion of hemp oil in addition to the usual suspects. The Cannabis Club Sud is brewed with raw materials from organic cultivation: both the barley and the hops are subject to the strict specifications of Bioland, and the commercial hemp comes from organic farming. The good full-bodied beer from the Weissenohe monastery brewery is blended with essential hemp oil to give it its subtly bitter, slightly lemony taste.

The Cannabis Club Sud flows into the glass in a deep golden hue and is crowned by a good amount of airy, white foam. A subtle aroma of soft malt rises from the nearly clear beer, which combines with a strong bitter hop aroma and an unmistakable hemp note on the nose. The aftertaste follows on the heels of the aroma: Bready malt kicks things off before the hops take over with notes of green herbs, fresh citrus and delightful bitterness. The hemp oil gives the beer its very own character and that certain something.

A must try!

The Mix - Cannabis Club

With its Cannabis Club Sud, which is fully in line with the international trend, the brewery Klosterbrauerei Weissenohe, in cooperation with Hemp and Nature, offers both the creative beer drinker and the hemp lover a refreshing beverage, which in its pleasantly rounded way conveys the flowery, citrusy, bitter hemp flower aroma as an enrichment of the beer taste.

The Beer is made by: water, organic barley malt, organic hops, yeast; hemp soft drink: water, carbonic acid, hemp essential oil.

The hemp inside

We prefer to process hemp from organic cultivation. This almost THC-free fiber hemp is used as an essential oil during the brewing process.

My conclusion after this test

The beer taste like a normal beer
but there is the strong smell of cannabis
for me a bit to much smell
and even to much hemp taste

Hahahaha this was quite the interesting read although I engage in both beer and cannabis not sure how likely I am or curious to even try the combination of the two especially after reading this article. Individually both are great in moderation.

I think the reason it smells like that besides the fermentation process is maybe it is to appeal to cannabis users. Just like they say sometimes the first thing that draws us to the foods is a sense of smell and can even at times effect how it taste to us. So the allure of this one may be to regular cannabis users who "enjoy" the smell so the beer will or should work to trigger such a feeling.

I personally don't like the smell of cannabis nor the taste of beer haha so this sounds like 2 bad combinations for me. But the buzz effect and the euphoric effect both on an individual level I can find myself enjoying from time to time. Good read you can't have beer without a good slice of !PIZZA

Hemp and Hops are actually very close cousins so it's not surprising that cannabis works in beer, it's also why many hops have a 'dank' taste and smell similar to pot, this wounds like a interesting !BEER

This is legal in many countries as there is no THC involved

The way the law works here in Brazil I'd doubt it. Anything related to cannabis is HIGHLY regulated and it sucks. I'm lucky to live near Uruguay because our authorities are just plain... stupid, you know?
