Breaking 10K Steps Broke Me - My Actifit Report Card: March 31 2021
Well I did it yet I kinda regret it. 10K steps done making it to the second level of achievement while limping my butt around doing car maintenance.
Starting with the usual exercise routine and walk with Jerry I then set about pulling my summer tires out of storage.
Plan was to get just the tires swapped but I ended up doing a coolant flush and oil change while there. If you know anything about the Suzuki SX4 then it will be apparent as to why I am not able to do my own oil changes without a vehicle lift or bay underneath. If not let me explain, Suzuki designed the car with 1 point accesses which means to get the oil filter off you need to stand with a straight arm to barely access it. Plus with no room for a oil filter wrench the only option is to wrap fingers around and pull down with all weight causing the filter to spin then fall off and typically spill oil all down whom ever is removing the filter. In short, stupid design.
Luckily I found a wheely dealy to drag my tires up stairs saving my back quite a bit of strain. I am ok lifting and twisting but I am not ok walking with a load yet.
Oil shop ended up stripping the oil plug, 4 hour wait to get one driven down from up island(nearly every bolt on this car is custom sized). No charge for the bolt due to wait.
While waiting Jerry and I walked around happening to discover an area which has become a less fortunate dumping zone .... in some cases literally 😅
After that long morning I then did a shift of SkipTheDishes but called it early seeing as my leg was starting to swell. Still basically at the same point, I can move around mostly without pain but still lack strength in my right calf muscle with swelling when being active then sitting. Doing the strength test, I believe I can feel the calf engage but it may also just be compensation.
